Our Day Off
What started as a much needed day off quickly turned into an adventure of its own. While some of us chose to brave the rain storm and snorkel, a special few of us had a different mission they were called to.
The rain came down hard and flooding covered the island as special operations Down Pour went on a house call for wound care of a home bound elderly man. The rain was challenging as it was but the golf carts got stuck & broke down from flooding. But God is always watching over us. A local man who happened to be the hotel security guy came to the rescue and operation Downpour made it safely to the home, but completely soaked! 🤣🌧️
Wound care was a success! Dr Ali, Chris, Dr. Luke, and Cami cared for this man right in his home, tending to his wound, comforting him through the discomfort, and showing his wife how to continue caring for him. His family was so grateful, and we were just as grateful to be welcomed into their home.
It was a beautiful reminder of what compassion looks like.
This community has welcomed us with such gratitude and we feel incredibly blessed to be here serving them. But they continue caring for us just as much 🥰
And after all of that, we couldn’t wait to get up the next morning and do it all over again!
